STOP THE WDI LANDFILL EXPANSION
Your Voice Matters – Public Meeting & Hearing Who: We need YOU to attend!
WHAT: Public Meeting & Hearing hosted by EGLE and EPA to review the proposed hazardous waste operating license/expansion for Wayne Disposal Inc.
WHY: We need to fill the room to show our community stands AGAINST the landfill expansion.
Together we can protect our community, our health, and our future.
DATE: SEPTEMBER 18, 2025
DEMONSTRATION OUTSIDE: 3:45 - 5 PM
OPEN HOUSE WITH EGLE/EPA: 5 -6 PM
MEETING TIME: 6 - 9 PM
LOCATION: WCCC 9555 HAGGERTY ROAD, BELLEVILLE
Wayne Disposal Inc. is applying to RENEW and EXPAND its license to bring in even more nuclear waste. WDI is discreetly nestled next to two schools, in a densely populated area (365,000 people in a 10-mile radius), and sitting on the shores of the Huron River Watershed. Despite public outcry, EGLE and Republic Services are pushing forward. This is the only scheduled public informational meeting where the community can show up in person, on record, to voice our concerns. In the past, EGLE pointed to low community turnout as justification to continue using our area as a dumping ground for some of the most toxic waste in the country. Let's not let that happen again.
DATE: JUNE 26TH 2025
TIME: 6-8 PM
ADDRESS: 9555 HAGGERTY ROAD, BELLEVILLE, MI 48111
